To take the CCPS exam, you must have completed TCOLE 2101, 2102, and 2103. CRI accepts any accredited course with these numbers from other institutions. Preparation for the test involves completing the required coursework and attending the optional CCPS Exam review.
Typically, the review is held the night before the exam, covers all the topics on the exam, and is a tool to help guide the student in final preparation.
What to review for the exam:
The CCPS Exam is a TCOLE exam offered by CRI. It comprehensively examines crime prevention, community engagement, and problem-solving. Passing the exam certifies the student with the official title of Certified Crime Prevention Specialist. After passing the exam, the CRI training coordinator sends the results to TCOLE, which records the passage on the students' F5. CRI will provide you with the paperwork to obtain the official certificate from TCOLE.
